Dr Shimada is an active participant in her community!  Not only does she work in La Habra, but her four children all attended school in the La Habra school district.

Dr Shimada is a member of the La Habra Chamber of Commerce, active in the local La Habra PTAs and school site councils — and now is a member of the Fullerton Joint Union School District Parents Council (which includes Sonora and La Habra High) and served a two year term of being President of Fullerton High School’s Choral Booster Club.

Each Holiday season with the aid of her generous patients, Dr. Shimada sponsors a local toy drive for the children in the La Habra/ North Orange County area.

Dr. Shimada has also sponsored families during the Thanksgiving Season to make sure the family gets a food basket filled with a Holiday turkey, bag of potatos, and all the trimmings to make their Thanksgiving a special one.

Recently during the Christmas season, Dr Shimada (along with her family/ friends) sang Christmas Carols at a local nursing home in Whittier CA.  It was wonderful to bring smiles to the residents living there, and even more wonderful to have them join in with us in singing some the old familar songs along with us.  Definitely one of the highlights for Dr. Shimada of the Holidays .  .  .  It created special memories not only for Dr. Shimada’s family, but we hope, for the residents there as well.
